Here’s the thing about meditation, as I try once again to make it a habit… Even when I close my eyes to meditate for five minutes, body fidgeting, mind racing and worrying and busying itself with everything but the present moment, I still feel quieter, more relaxed when I open my eyes. Maybe it’s just the simple act of giving myself five dedicated minutes of attention (no matter how they play out) to the calm, knowing soul that smiles from within at all of my mental nonsense. We are beings of peace after all. And of love. So much goodness, so much understanding and compassion lives inside each of us, like wide-eyed children, always ready to come out and play.

Don’t waste mirror time criticizing your appearance when you could be spending it complementing the one person who has seen you through all of life’s challenges and will get you through all thatās coming. that reflection of yours deserves nothing but praise, for as long as you’re able to look in the mirror and see the it.

I am powerful in my love for myself. The truth of my being is I love myself exactly as I am. I honor my empowered heart.
The biggest mistake people make when trying to be authentic is just that: they try. They see these role models of what an “authentic” person is supposed to look like or act like, and they try to emulate that. Authenticity isn’t about what things appear to be. It’s about allowing things to be what they are. Authenticity is about getting away from hiding, from wearing a mask, from always asking, “How should I act? What should I say? What will people think?” That includes asking, “How should an authentic person act? What would a genuine person say?”Being authentic isn’t about making yourself a certain way. It’s not even about finding out what you “really” enjoy as opposed to what other people enjoy, or who you “really” are as opposed to who other people are. Authenticity is allowing your likes, dislikes, personality, appearance, hobbies, and beliefs to be fluid, to change, to evolve as you learn, grow, and experience the world. At its core, authenticity is the practice of surrendering the tiresome task of keeping up appearances and taking up of the lifetime work of allowing what is already within you to come out while you remove as many internal and external obstacles as possible. And who knows what will spill out of you if you just allow it to? Who knows what is within you awaiting recognition, awaiting permission to show itself to the world? Even you donāt knowāuntil you try. Or, rather, until you stop trying. Until you become curious.

I take it as a compliment when somebody calls me crazy. I would be offended if I was one of the sheeple, one of the sleepwalkers in the matrix or part of the collective hallucination we call ‘normal

Accomplishments donāt erase shame, hatred, cruelty, silence, ignorance, discrimination, low self-esteem or immorality. It covers it up, with a creative version of pride and ego. Only restitution, forgiving yourself and others, compassion, repentance and living with dignity will ever erase the past.
